Friendly reminder, when you see people on the bridge (working or otherwise), slow down and give them a chance to move. We had a volunteer get his foot run over Saturday, luckily no injury occurred.
Over the weekend more damage to the bridge occurred. Luckily, the Board had already started the process of researching and creating a plan of action to complete repairs. As of today, lumber has been ordered and will arrive in 7 days. We will keep the community updated on the repair timeline.
For the time being please drive in the center of the bridge when crossing. Also, remind guests and contractors to be slow and careful.
In 2019, Alicia O’Meara and Karl Lund generously hosted a neighborhood party on the 4th of July. It was very fun, and a great opportunity for neighbors to mingle and enjoy each other’s company.
The Board wanted to continue this tradition in 2020, but decided in the time of Covid it is better to postpone the party. Hopefully, safety and health can be better managed around Labor Day weekend.

As of February 2020, the Board created a new fee schedule for construction projects. These fees will go towards bridge and road maintenance costs, as construction can create a lot of wear and tear on our roads.

The Upper Weber Canyon Property Owners Association (UWCPOA) has secured a site from the county next to our canyon’s trash transfer station and Josh Hollingshead (with UWCPOA) is working with excavation and concrete companies to secure a bid. He is in need of help to start identifying people who work in trades (electrician, framing, heavy machinery, etc) who could volunteer some work or materials as the budget is very tight. Anyone who could help in that regard is invited to contact Debbi Fugal (dfugal@gmail.com; 435-640-0376).
Winter road restrictions have been lifted. Some areas are still quite soft or snowy and have been coned off. Do not move the cones and drive through these areas! It will cause costly damage to the roads. Here are the continuing limitations:
Update, May 3rd: Mud Hill and Escalante are now open. Please refrain from bringing large trucks and trailers into the neighborhood until after May 11th, as earlier stated.
The snow is rapidly melting (picture above from Weber Road on Friday) and the weather forecast shows some pretty high temperatures for this week. At this time, the Board is hoping to lift Winter Restrictions later this week. Please stay tuned and continue to hold off driving over roads which will be damaged by automotive traffic. Also, avoid the river banks in the upcoming weeks, these weather conditions typically cause fast high-water conditions.
Winter road restrictions are in effect any time the winter restrictions sign is posted on the gate. During winter restrictions, only snow vehicles—such as snowmobiles, snow cats, and ATVs—are permitted on BSR roads. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles are not permitted until restrictions are lifted. At this time, we highly recommend tracked ATVs only due to patches of snow (either frozen or very soft), mud, and areas lacking either.
As a reminder, large trucks and commercial vehicles are typically restricted for an additional 1-3 weeks after the winter restrictions are lifted (depending on weather). This is to prevent costly damage to the still-soft roads.
We are monitoring the weather, the remaining snow, and the road conditions in general with hopes of lifting the restriction some time soon. It is, however, too soon to know when we will be able to lift the restrictions. Recent Spring storms have slowed the melting and sometimes added new snow.
