River Danger

It was brought to the Board’s attention that children were recently found playing on the ice in the river, without adult supervision. Even with adult supervision, this is a dangerous idea. We would like to remind the community to be aware of what their family and guests are doing. Safety is key to keeping our neighborhood a family friendly sanctuary throughout the year. Please let the board know if you have any other safety reminders you would like to share with the neighborhood.

NO TRESPASSING

As our winter season goes full blown, with plenty of snow and the holidays on the horizon. Please remember that residents and guests are only permitted to drive on the roads inside of Beaver Springs. DO NOT drive into neighbor’s yards or open fields. It can cause damage to their property or your vehicle. Often times this behavior has caused people to get stuck and cause more damage. Driving into someone else’s yard is considered trespassing. Please stay on the roads!

Winter Restrictions in Effect, Again

Winter road restrictions are now in effect!! ONLY snow vehicles (snowmobiles, snow cats, ATVs, and the like) are permitted on BSR roads. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles are not permitted until restrictions are lifted in the Spring.

Restrictions are going back into place after having a few weeks of reduced restrictions. The forecast shows another storm headed to Summit County tomorrow, with 3-5 inches expected. This is on top of a storm we had Monday, which left several inches. We have already had some issues with cars stuck in the neighborhood, so please plan accordingly.

We change to “Winter Road Restrictions” when the snow or ice accumulation is significant enough to make travel on BSR roads hazardous. During winter restrictions, only snow vehicles—such as snowmobiles, snow cats, and ATVs—are permitted past the BSR gate. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles ARE NOT PERMITED until restrictions are lifted. Even if you see car tracks going past the gate, this does not mean it is okay for you to drive in. This is for everyone’s safety. We’ve had people in the past who disobey the restrictions and end up blocking the road at the bottom of the gated hill.

It is the responsibility of every Association Member to ensure their guests are aware when Winter Restrictions are in effect and what that means. We had a few non-snow vehicles go into BSR last winter by guests. Most required assistance to get out.

Winter Restrictions Temporarily Reduced – REMINDER

On November 17th the Board decided to temporarily reduce winter restrictions. However, we have had a few issues with vehicles causing damage or getting stuck. So here is a friendly reminder before the holiday weekend:
Beaver Springs roads are muddy and soft, but passable. Please Do Not bring in construction vehicles, heavy vehicles trailers or large vehicles of any sort! Please use common sense and avoid steep and soft sections if possible. It would be nice to leave the roads open to passenger vehicles for as long as possible, but if large trucks and construction vehicles continue to damage the roads when they are muddy winter restrictions will have to go back up.

From November 17th:

Beaver Springs had less snow over the weekend than what was forecasted. There is still quite a lot of snow, more than what is usually on the ground this time of year. So, we will temporarily reduce winter restrictions and allow vehicles with 4 wheel drive into Beaver Springs. No cars or large vehicles should enter Beaver Springs.

Many people were surprised by this storm. So, this is a good reminder for all of us to start preparing cabins for Winter early in the Fall because we can never predict the weather.

WINTER ROAD RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT

Winter road restrictions are now in effect!! ONLY snow vehicles (snowmobiles, snow cats, ATVs, and the like) are permitted on BSR roads. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles are not permitted until restrictions are lifted in the Spring.

Restrictions are going into place earlier this year, because we are expecting a big snow storm the weekend of 11/13/2020. Two-three feet of snow is expected in areas of Summit County. We have already had some issues with cars stuck in the neighborhood, so please plan accordingly.

*If there is a possibility that the restrictions can be lifted in late November, we will notify residents. However, it seems as though winter has arrived early!

Cool Springs Mutual Water Company has the results of the recent election.

What, you didn’t vote? We know, the return rate for ballots was 33% . While that is not bad, it is not great either.

The Board decided to expand to its original seven members, as a result, the volunteers with the next two highest number of votes in the last two elections were asked to join the Board.

All that said, here are the results:

Farley Eskelsen will remain President of the Cool Springs Mutual Water Company
Lee Burke has accepted a position as a member on the Board
Karl Lund has accepted a position as a member on the Board

Thank you all for your continued support and engagement.

Beaver Springs Rental Information

Hello everyone! It’s that time of year again to renew your contract for parking at the Beaver Spring Ranch Rental’s parking lots. There are some changes in pricing and policies so please read your contracts carefully so that you choose the most appropriate parking permit for your situation. Also, this year we will be installing some security cameras and Wi-Fi network as well as creating a long-term parking zone for vehicles remaining parked in one spot for more than 10 days at a time.

We hope to alleviate some of the plowing issues that we have had with permanently parked vehicles and trailers for the past few winters. Please read and fill out the attached contract carefully and feel free to call us with any questions or concerns you might have. We will be holding a meet and greet in the parking lot to pass out keys, collect checks and collect contracts November 7th 10am to 2pm.  As always, we appreciate all of your cooperation with parking in the most orderly and efficient manner possible.

The key to the seasonal gate (East Gate) of Beaver Springs Rentals’ facility will be changed Nov. 7th, 2020. If you can’t make that weekend please contact me to make arrangements to pick up new keys and drop off your new lease agreement with check. Cool Springs Water Company Project

The Cool Springs Water Company will be doing maintenance on your water system starting Tuesday, September 15 through Friday, September 18.  Smith and Morehouse, Ogden and possibly Jim Bridger Roads will be affected throughout the project.  On Wednesday, September 16 th , Ogden Road will be closed during the morning hours, and Thursday through Friday, September 17 and 18 expect a partial or full closure of Smith and Morehouse Road. This is a carryover from work started last year.

We are completing the tie-in of the waterline from the north side of Smith and Morehouse Road (private property), under the Weber River on the south side, down Smith and Morehouse Road to the newly placed vault.  Back under the river to the north side to another newly placed vault, to the waterline on Ogden Road and back up to the blue stake visible between Ogden and Weber Road.

The Water Company appreciates your patience as we complete this work. Please understand this is one more step in replacing 60-year-old water pipes, lines, and other structures, we are committed to
keeping your water system clean and safe.
