Winter Restrictions in Effect
Winter road restrictions are now in effect. The winter restrictions sign is posted on the gate and only snow vehicles are permitted on BSR roads. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles are not permitted until restrictions are lifted in the Spring.
Winter Restrictions Coming Soon
We’re on “borrowed time” now as far as good weather is concerned. A couple good snowstorms could easily require putting winter restrictions in place with very little notice.
Cabins should now be winterized.
With the pending snow storms, winter gate restrictions will be imposed when warranted by road conditions. Once imposed, the winter restrictions sign will be posted on the gate and only snow vehicles will be permitted on BSR roads. Cars, trucks, and 4-wheel drive vehicles will not be permitted until restrictions are lifted in the Spring.
Winter Preparations
Winter is upon BSR! Several inches of snow are forecast for tonight. Temperatures are dropping and we want to avoid frozen pipes which may lead to water leaks and/or property damage. Don’t forget to winterize your cabins before it is too late. To help with any potential issues, it is a good idea to shut off your water at the roadside valve marked by the blue-tipped T-post.
County-wide Fire Restrictions Rescinded
Reduction in fire danger indices and improved weather conditions have resulted in reduced wildfire hazard. As a result, all fire restrictions set in place on Thursday, July 6, 2017, within the areas described below are rescinded beginning Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 0001 hours.
Area Description
All unincorporated private and state lands within the following area: Summit County.
This order does not affect private lands within incorporated towns or city limits.
This order does not affect the shooting restriction in place in the Echo Canyon area.

Window Washing
A window washing crew will be in BSR Saturday, September 16th. Anybody interested in having their windows washed can call 435-783-7141.
Speed Bumps
With this weekend being Pioneer Day weekend, BSR could be a busy place. New speed bumps have been in place for a couple weeks at the top of Mud Hill. These can take people by surprise if they are not aware of them. Signs have been ordered.
Please be aware of the new speed bumps and exercise caution on the roads. The speed limit is 10 mph and should be observed for everyone’s safety.
Update, 8/12/2017: Signs have been posted on the first and third dips which face both directions. Be aware there is a second dip on the crest of the hill. We are aware that this unmarked dip is extremely difficult to see while driving and are taking feedback on the dips in general.
County-wide Fire Restrictions In Effect
County-wide fire restrictions are now in effect prohibiting open fires, smoking, fireworks, welding, non-spark arrested vehicles, and more. Please see the County alert.
If you see anyone violating these restrictions, please–for the sake of our beautiful canyon’s safety–speak up! Report it to the Summit County Sheriffs Office (435-615-3600) if the person(s) don’t comply immediately!

2017 Spring Cleanup Photos
We had several people show up to assist with the annual cleanup project on Saturday, June 6th. (More than those shown in the pictures… A few people didn’t want their picture taken.) Cleanup focused on the western half of Colter Road. Thank you to all who helped!
