A new Facebook group has been created for BSR residents to help facilitate communication among neighbors: Beaver Springs Ranch Residents. This group will allow you to start conversations in a closed group—as apposed to a public page as with the “Beaver Springs Ranch Association” Facebook page—to help maintain residents’ privacy.

County-wide Fire Restrictions In Effect
County-wide fire restrictions are now in effect restricting all open burns, including the use of all fireworks, cutting, grinding and welding. Cigarette smoking is also restricted, unless smoking takes place in an area clear of vegetation. Exceptions will be made for campfires burning in an improved fire pit, which includes any enclosure built in the ground. Fires are also allowed in pits purchased from hardware stores. Strictly prohibited are campfires in manmade rock rings. Please see the County alert.
If you see anyone violating these restrictions, please–for the sake of our beautiful canyon’s safety–speak up! Report it to the Summit County Sheriffs Office (435-615-3600) if the person(s) don’t comply immediately!

New Site
The new Beaver Springs Ranch website is going live! We hope you enjoy the new experience which allows you to search and view past postings, highlighted articles on the homepage, and the ability to be notified by email when a new post is made. We’ll be making changes to the site in the coming weeks to provide the best experience to everyone that we can. If you have feedback about the new site, please let us know by contacting a Board member.
2018 Spring Cleanup — Saturday, June 2
Our annual spring cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd, at 9:00am. Please meet at the corral for work review and assignments. Bring shovels and chain saws if you have them available.
The DNR will again assist us with cleanup efforts and reduction of fire hazards by chipping wood piles that have been prepared through our cleanup work. DNR chipping dates will be posted once they are known.
As a reminder: DNR will only work on piles that have been properly stacked. Stacks must be near the road or your driveway. Do not extend stacks into the bar ditches or BSR roads so as to not hinder traffic or any necessary road work. Wood must be stacked in parallel formation. Do not cut logs into short pieces. Longer logs allow for more efficient work and cleanup. Stacking similar diameter pieces together will also help the crew be more efficient. Chippings will be left near your pile.
The pictures below show how the wood needs to be stacked: larger diameter end facing the road for easy access and handling. If not properly stacked, the DNR crews may bypass your property. Several property owners have already stacked wood close to the roads. Now is a good time to begin if you have not already started cleaning your property and stacking wood in preparation for the chipping project. Don’t forget to file a NFP In-Kind Form for work done outside of our Annual Cleanup (we’ll do the tracking for work done with the group during the Cleanup).

Gate Painting This Year
Here’s an opportunity this year to volunteer your services to help beautify our association: main gate painting.
Carol Nazarowitz is leading efforts to organize and paint the main gate in the near future. She is asking for those interested in helping to contact her at 435-783-7141.
Please volunteer to help.
Painting will begin on or about June 11th and is anticipated to be complete around June 22nd. Please be courteous and respectful of the painting efforts as they are occurring and expect reasonable delays travelling through the gate during this period.
There should be no locks or lock-boxes attached to the gate. If there are, these will be cut off and disposed of when painting is started. All locks and lock-boxes should be attached to the provided lock-box post found between the gate and the bulletin board.
Eliminate Speeding, Observe Posted Speed Signs
Concern was raised at the annual meeting of continued speeding on Association roads.
Slow down and enjoy the mountain. The roads are for enjoyment and not for speeding.
Safety is a primary concern whether in a motor vehicle or on foot.
Slow down and show concern for everyone’s safety. Be a responsible neighbor.
Window Washing
A crew will be on the mountain Saturday, June 2nd, 2018, to wash windows. Anyone interested should call 435-783-7141 after 5-18-2018.
Summit County Recycling
More information on the Summit County Recycling program was requested at our Annual Meeting earlier this week. Below is an informative graphic from Summit County and Republic Services outlining what is accepted for recycling and what is not. For more information please see their website.
